In 2014, 24 of our members decided to do the bravest thing ever – ditch their clothes for charity
1. Our aim was to challenge ourselves to do something that we would never normally do to motivate us and to raise money for charity while doing it.
2. To lose weight is a challenge and anyone who has lost a lot of weight will understand it is a major thing in their life …why?
- When your overweight you always avoid the camera because you don’t want to see what you really look like
- Even when you lose weight your still psychologically feel like ‘the big girl or boy’ in your own mind
3. Well to be part of this project WAS and IS a major thing for anyone who had been or is overweight
- Ask yourself do you know how much courage this took for any of these ladies?
- Sharing ourselves in a way which is a way we have always avoided ‘the camera’
- We challenged ourselves to the extreme hoping the public would see that and sponsor us by buying the calendar in support
The 24 ladies involved all took part in this calendar not for praise about how good we look. We took part because we embraced a challenge in life and that was to share a part that we wanted to keep secret. It is something we felt the public would understand and thats something personal we will always feel insecure about but hope public would accept. To be photographed ‘naked’ in most insecure way is massive thing and hopefully public will accept that and recognise the sacrifice we made to raise funds for NICHS.
