Healthy EatingFOR 30-year-old Dani Quinn a photograph of herself at a Christmas dinner was enough to shock her into weight loss action.

With the help of We Slim Together (WST) the Antrim woman has lost more than two stone and is feeling more confident than ever.

“I have so much more confidence,” she said after shedding the pounds. “And I love being comfortable in my clothes and needing to buy smaller sizes. I have so much more energy, and my fitness has definitely increased.”

The transformation for Dani has had an even more impressive benefit. She has Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and sticking to the We Slim Together plan has meant agonizing flare ups are less frequent.

“I do still get some bad flare ups but no where near as bad when I stick to the WST healthy eating plan,” said Dani. “Beforehand I sometimes went days on end where I could hardly stand straight as my stomach was that sore.”

Dani attends the WST Antrim group, but still recalls that fateful Christmas picture.

Healthy Eating“I saw a picture of myself at Christmas in work. I had such a round face and looked so tired. I just felt I looked awful.

“I realised I was kidding myself trying to keep wearing the same clothes. There were days were I let my button out on my trousers as I was so uncomfortable. I felt like all my friends where so slim and the latest fashions all suited them so well.

“On a group holiday I felt so uncomfortable and did so much to try to hide myself and cover myself up. I have a friend that I didn’t actually want to meet up with as I was jealous of how fit and healthy she looked compared to me.“

The home shopping supervisor at a leading supermarket lives with her boyfriend, who she says has been helping her every step of the way.

“I always compared myself to my friends and my family,” said Dani. “I did feel uncomfortable in how I looked so did really lack confidence. I think this did have a negative effect in my relationship, but my boyfriend has never been anything but encouraging and supportive.”

After trying before Dani began her current transformation in January of this year and is delighted to have achieved so much.

With the regular WST classes and inspiring educational talks Dani is working towards a personal weight goal as well as generally feeling super.

“Straight after class I feel so enthusiastic,” she said. “I always try to plan all my meals, as this is definitely the key to success.

“I definitely think staying for the group talk has helped me come so far and has nurtured my passion for the WST plan. I still live my life. I love the meals I make, but I do still have slip ups, but the support of the consultants and the members on the 24-hour online support group gives me the focus to get back to plan.”
